Rheem Air Conditioning Repair Techs Compare HVAC Phases

Have you been shopping around for a new Rheem cooling system in El Paso? If so, you’ve probably looked at enough sales literature by now to have run across descriptive terms like single-phase and three-phase. Perhaps you wondered what the difference was between one phase and another but were too shy to ask. Well today our Rheem air conditioning repair techs are ready to break down the differences for you.

What’s the Difference between Phases?

Rheem Air Conditioning RepairBelieve it or not, there are three phases commonly found in residential cooling systems. They are aptly named single-phase, two-phase and three-phase and the main difference between them rests with the pistons. The pistons in refrigerated air conditioning systems are primarily designed to move air, which is essential when it comes to quickly cooling down a room during super hot days.
Understandably, refrigerated air conditioning systems with more than one piston tend to be extremely effective and efficient. However, you may expect to pay a considerable amount more for the energy-efficiency and convenience. Single-phase systems tend to cost less at the outset but will likely run you more in the long-term due to inherent inefficiencies.

Which SEER Ratings Are Available Per Phase?

Rheem currently manufactures a variety of single and multi-phase HVAC units for residential use. The maximum SEER level available at this time is 19.5, which you’ll find in their Prestige Dual-Stage Series. The least energy-efficient models in the company’s single-phase lineup tend to fall in the 11 to 13 SEER range. Nonetheless, they may work perfectly for some consumers depending on the circumstances.

How Do Consumers Know Which One is Best?

How do consumers know which phase is best for their given circumstances? Our Rheem air conditioning repair techs would be happy to explain the finer points, so please feel free to reach out to us in El Paso online. We’ll evaluate the situation, offer our suggestions, finance and install the Rheem cooling system that’s right for the job in the shortest amount of time possible.

Dryer Repair Co. Reminds Families to Beware of Laundering Vinyl Tablecloths

Today’s El Paso hosts and hostesses frequently take vinyl tablecloths for granted. Perhaps that’s because the table coverings have been around for decades. Unfortunately, as a result of that mindset, many also forget that vinyl tablecloths cannot be laundered. Unlike tablecloths made out of cotton or other washable fabrics, vinyl ones will melt.
Dryer mistakes im making
Be cautious of what you put in your dryer
As such, it’s common around the holidays for dryer repair companies to hear from panicked customers.  Oftentimes, the customers will have a major mess to contend with because they put the tablecloth in the dryer and walked away. In other cases, they realized that the vinyl tablecloth was in the dryer and retrieved it before too much damage occurred.
In our experience, when vinyl tablecloths melt inside of laundry appliances, it is wise to call in dryer repair professionals. They may be able to remove the tablecloth’s remnants without further mutilation of the dryer’s interior.  Keep in mind, dryer interiors vary. Therefore, some of them sustain damage easily whereas others are capable of being scrubbed or scraped vigorously with special products. Dryer repair companies know the difference in interiors but homeowners may not.
Also, dryer repair professionals can ensure that the melted vinyl hasn’t seeped into other areas of the dryer and caused potential hazards. For example, the plastic may have dripped on to a sensor or marred the dryer’s deflector plate. In which case, they must be replaced in order to prevent residential fires from breaking out. And by the way, after a melted vinyl disaster, it’s best to have the experts check the dryer’s ventilation system too. After all, inexpensive vinyl is highly flammable and melted pieces tend to go airborne at times. So, you just can’t be too cautious where melted plastic is concerned.
To learn more about what to do when melted vinyl ends up inside of El Paso laundry room appliances, please contact us today.

El Paso Dryer Vent Cleaning is a Safety Must

Dryer Vent Before and After Cleaning
When is the last time you had your dryer vent cleaned? If it takes you more than a few seconds to come up with the answer it is time to stop what you are doing and schedule a El Pasodryer vent cleaning right now. Nothing is more important than the safety of your family.

There may be no greater threat to your home, personal belongings and your loved ones than the fire hazard that is created when your dryer vent is allowed to build up with lint.
Of course you change out your lint trap every time you put new clothes in the dryer, but the lint trap does not catch every piece of lint. Some of the lint and debris makes its way below the lint trap, some of the lint and debris moves into your dryer vent and collects along the surface of the vent. This lint is highly flammable and when you combine it with the high temperatures that a dryer produces it can lead to fires and even explosions.
According to FEMA dryer fires lead to $35 million dollars in property damage every year, but even that astronomical number is nothing compared to the potential loss of life from a house fire started by lint build up in the dryer vent. If you aren't willing to have your dryer vent thoroughly cleaned at least once a year, it would be better for your family if you removed your dryer from your home altogether and took your clothes to a laundromat to have them dried.
Your family's safety is a huge concern of or ours, and we would be glad to come perform regular maintenance on your dryer. Please contact us to schedule an appointment in El Paso.

Avoid dryer fires with dryer vent cleaning

Protect your home and loved ones with a simple dryer vent cleaning in El Paso

Dryer Vent Cleaning can help prevent dryer fires.
A family is struggling to pick up the pieces after an overheated dryer almost destroyed their entire house.
Stephanie Yates and her family are staying with relatives after her house almost went up in flames yesterday. She turned her dryer on and in a matter of minutes, her entire home was filled with smoke. Yates says most of her things are destroyed. She later found out the vent leading outdoors hadn’t been cleaned in years.
Yates wants the community to know that this tragedy can happen to anyone.
“This is our first home. We just bought it less than a year ago. There's a learning curve, but it would've been nice if someone had told me that there's more than the lint trap to worry about,” said Yates.
Yates says she spoke with her insurance company and tells us her family will be able to move back in about a month.

A neighbor woman comes home from running errands to find her home on fire.
Investigators say flames started in the laundry room of a home in the 7000 block of Thomas Drive.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a dryer vent that appears to have not been cleaned in years. Investigators say the woman started the dryer then left her home.
“What could have accounted to a half an hour or an hour job of pulling the tube down that goes to the dryer out to the outside and cleaning it, resulted in thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.”
Fire crews recommend cleaning out the dryer vent at least every year and for larger families it should be every six months.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in the Southwest is Crucial

Spring dryer vent cleaning in El Paso and Las Cruces

Dryer Vent Cleaning El Paso and Las Cruces

Dryer vent cleaning and maintenance should be a priority for homeowners, especially in the spring. Once the dryer vents are professionally cleaned, residents should consider investing in screens. There are a variety of dryer vent screens available on the market today. Some are made of galvanized or stainless steel. Others are fashioned out of plastic. The metal screens are perfect for dryer vents that exit through the roof or gable. Plastic dryer vents, on the other hand, are ideal for those systems that exit through vinyl-sided walls.
Even after the screens are installed, it will still be important to schedule routine, dryer vent cleaning. That’s because dryer lint buildup can occur at any time and screens won’t keep it from happening. To find out more about dryer vent cleaning and tips for keeping critters out of your home’s appliances, please contact us at SoBellas Home Services.

Ignoring Dryer Vent Cleaning is Detrimental to Your Home and Health

dryer vent cleaning

If you've seen more fires blamed on inadequate dryer vent cleaning in the news lately and thought "Eh, no big deal," you may be in for some trouble down the road. We're fairly certain that ignoring the cleaning of your dryer vents could be detrimental not only to your home but to your health, and we're going to explain how in this blog entry.

Government and News Statistics

·         According to ABC Action News it's estimated that over 15,000 dryer fires are started every year by clogged dryer vents.

·         Furthermore, according to FEMA, 5 deaths and more than 100 injuries are to blame for these fires as well.

Safety officials report that most dryer fires can be prevented by proper maintenance of the dryers vent work. According to Cincinnati District Fire Chief Fredrick Prather;

"Often times, people do not clean out their (dryer) filters or clean out the duct work, so that's one of the big problems.”

A fire is about the worst thing that can result from a clogged dryer vent. However, other dangers exist that can adversely affect you, your family's health and your property come from not inspecting and cleaning your dryer duct and vent work on a regular basis. This is because a clogged dryer vent can effect both the heat and humidity levels in your home.

According to industry experts, the ideal indoor air humidity levels should be kept between 30 and 50 percent. Levels above or below these ideals are well known to have adverse effects on people and property.

Humidity That's Too Low

Indoor humidity levels below 30 percent are reputed to cause damage to your homes' wood floors, your furniture and drive up your energy costs by unnecessarily turning up the heat. Furthermore, humidity levels that are too low can also increase your homes' static electricity, increase dust levels along with causing other respiratory, throat and skin irritations.

Additionally, high heat and low humidity levels in your home will cause the wood and caulk to shrink and split. When the wood and caulk around doors and window frames shrink and crack this causes gaps. These gaps allow the cold outside air to seep in increasing your heating costs.

Humidity That's Too High

Most people are under the impression that higher humidity helps keep their homes warmer during the winter months. This is true to a point. However, too much of a good thing can cause other health related issues.

As reported by Weather.com, Dr Michael Ruff said;

"Humidity promotes mold growth and dust mite population growth. Both are significant indoor allergens and can set off allergic sensitivity and can trigger rhinitis and asthma."

Furthermore, high humidity levels in the home can cause property damage such as warping wood floors, cause paint to peel and wallpaper to come loose. Additionally, high humidity levels in the home can stain walls and ceilings and cause foul odors. This type of property damage can lead to costly, untimely repairs.

Living a More Comfortable Life

As you can see from this blog entry, maintaining proper humidity levels in your home is not only important to retaining the value of your home, but to the health of your family as well. Proper service of your heating and ventilation systems, as well as regular maintenance of appliances such as your dryer can help your family live a more comfortable life.

Clogged dryer vents and their adverse effects on your health and property can be easily avoided through regular, professional maintenance. If you would like to speak to one of our professionals about this, please contact us. We'll be happy to answer any questions and address any concerns you may have.
